Arrangement

The disclosure of the archive has been done relatively generally which means there is overlap between different sections. The sections are therefore not an exhaustive list and it is recommended to consult the entire list when researching a particular topic. Especially research, correspondence and articles by Maddison and OECD-material can be found throughout the entire archive. The dates in the description concern the dates of creation, not the dates covered in the material itself. Part of the archive is organized alphabetically and part is organized chronologically.

The section CORRESPONDENCE contains a wide range of correspondence by Maddison; MANUSCRIPTS/PUBLICATIONS are work by Maddison himself and its background material; ARTICLES concerns work written by others and the section reviews contains reviews of Maddison’s publications; CONFERENCES is materials of conferences attended or organized by Maddison; LECTURES contains material of lectures held by him; THEMES is a very broad section, concerning many subjects Maddison researched; COUNTRIES contains publications, correspondence and official documentation organized per country; OECD contains various reports from Maddison’s time at the OECD; RESEARCH FILES concern research carried out by others under supervision of/aided by Maddison.
